The vessel´s last shipment in December 2015, which for the purpose of this study we shall call “Fourth Shipment of the Yacu Kallpa Case”, was the largest shipment of illegal timber seized to date, an achievement
made possible by the coordinated efforts of national and international authorities working in a coordinated manner.
The objective of this study is to identify the key actors and power structures involved in the fourth shipment of the Yacu Kallpa case which is being investigated by the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor’s Office (FEMA) with jurisdiction in Loreto as part of the international operation called “Operation Amazonas 2015”.
